What We Believe
As a church we want to clearly state what we believe and stand behind it. While we understand that people may differ on some beliefs, we have core beliefs that unify our church body. They are the foundation of our faith. This is what we believe.
BIBLE
ONE TRUE GOD
We believe there is only one true God, existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-eternal and co-equal from all eternity, each with distinct personalities but of one essence.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who entered into the world through the virgin birth, living among us without sin as perfect man and perfect God.
We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood on Calvary as a vicarious substitute for all sinners and that He was buried and rose again bodily and ascended to the right hand of the Father. From there, He will personally return to rapture His Church before the seven years of Great Tribulation followed by His pre-millennial return to earth to establish His kingdom according to the Scriptures.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts sinners and that He regenerates, sanctifies, indwells the believer and fills him for effective service.
SALVATION
PRIESTHOOD OF THE BELIEVER
We believe in the priesthood of the believer and that God has made provision for each believer to be victorious by being led of the Spirit and not walking after the flesh.
ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe in the eternal security of the believer and that he is guaranteed eternal life and a resurrected glorified body at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
THE CHURCH
RESURRECTION
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost—the saved unto the resurrection of life eternal and the lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.
SATAN & HELL
We believe that Satan is a person and that Hell is a place of eternal, conscious punishment for him, his hosts, and all unbelievers.
COMPROMISE WITH UNBELIEF
BIBLICAL INTERPRETATION
We believe that the Bible declares itself to be the message of God and sets forth the principle that this message is to be interpreted as literally as possible within its historical and cultural background. We believe that we must follow the Scriptures and not emotions. We further believe that since the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, we need to use the most accurate translations possible and avoid those translations and paraphrases of the Scriptures that take liberties that are unwarranted. We recommend the King James (Authorized) Version for general and church use.
