Music Ministry
Marquette’s music is soul-stirring and uplifting, yet conservative in style and presentation. We especially embrace the traditional hymns of the faith. We believe that the primary audience for church music is God, and so our music is intended to glorify God and edify believers by drawing attention to God’s greatness and goodness. Our desire is to provide opportunities for adults and children of all ages to participate in the music program of the church through choirs, orchestra, and special groups and ensembles. In every case, the music serves to prepare the hearts of the people for the preaching of the Word of God.
"O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised"
Psalm 96:1-4
Music Ministry Opportunities
Choir & Orchestra
Each week, in the Sunday morning service, our choir presents a musical selection that reflects God’s nature and challenges the listener. Additionally, the choir presents Christmas and Easter cantatas. Our orchestra accompanies the congregational singing. We encourage Marquette members with musical abilities to participate in choir and orchestra as we seek to praise and worship God together!
Offertories & Specials
Offertories and specials are presented at both Sunday morning and evening services. Offertories are usually done by keyboardists and instrumentalists with presentations ranging in size from ensembles to soloists. For specials, vocalists minister as soloists and in groups, and our children and teen choirs also sing occasionally throughout the year. There are opportunities for members of all ages to participate in worship. If you are interested in participating, please contact the church office.
