Children's Ministry

At Marquette, children are an integral part of our ministry. In a world where truth is diluted and children are often left to fend for themselves, we proclaim the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ and present God’s Word in a way that impacts young lives for eternity. Children need a biblical foundation so they can make right choices in their childhood, teen, and adult years. These right choices will, in turn, cause them to make a positive impact in society, both today and for eternity. We consider it a privilege and a high calling to teach the littlest children more about Jesus and how much He loves and cares for them!

    Weekly Children's Gatherings

    Sundays

    9:30 & 10:30 AM

    Sunday School - 9:30 AM

    We offer age-appropriate Sunday School classes for children ages 4 years old through 6th grade. Filled with Bible stories, activities, and practical lessons for today’s child, Sunday School provides a wonderful opportunity for your child to learn about God and His Word!

    Children's Church - 10:30 AM

    On Sunday mornings, we have Beginner Bible Time geared to kids ages 4-5. Beginner Bible is located by the lower level entrance. For children in 1st through 4th grade, we have Junior Church. Kids planning to attend Junior Church should start in the auditorium at 10:30 AM and will be dismissed right before the preaching begins.

    These programs are run by caring leaders with a love for the Lord Jesus Christ and are jam-packed with exciting stories, songs, activities, and important Bible lessons aimed at helping children know God personally and live a life pleasing to Him.

    Wednesdays

    AWANA at 7:00 PM

    Designed to minister to the children of our church and community, Awana is a structured, fun-filled program that teaches godly character, teamwork, and discipline through Bible memorization, exciting activities, Bible stories, and more.

    Awana is for children ages 4 through the 6th grade, and is held during the school year on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:15 PM. There are special activities throughout the year including Christmas caroling, Grand Prix, hikes, Awana store nights, and more.

    There is a minimal annual cost of $40 per child with a maximum of $75 per family. The fee includes the handbook and any awards achieved (pins/trophies).

    It is our hope that all the club members will accept Jesus into their hearts and get to know Him better through Awana!

    Summer Children's Ministries

    Neighborhood Bible Time

    Each summer Marquette hosts Neighborhood Bible Time. NBT is designed to minister to families in the church and community as an outreach to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For one week (Monday through Friday), children and teens in the greater Downers Grove area join us for games, Bible stories, competition, missionary stories, songs, rally time, snacks, and more! We also host a two-day program for moms on Wednesday and Thursday.

    Club

    Wednesdays at 7:15 PM
    Throughout the summer, we offer Children's Bible Club for kids ages 4 years old - 6th grade. This summer we're going on an adventure around the world! Each week we will "visit" another country and learn all kinds of things. The program runs the duration of the Adult Bible Study time (Wednesdays from 7:15-8:15 PM) and includes games, Bible and missionary stories, songs, and more!
    Mmbm Kids Nursery

    Nursery Information

    At our church, we prioritize the safety and well-being of all children. We require all workers who interact with children to undergo thorough background checks.

    In addition to this, we have a dedicated security team who are present throughout the church service, monitoring all unlocked doors. Our security team members receive annual training, including active shooter response procedures. We also have a child check-in/out system in place for all nurseries (for children aged 0-3) allowing us to monitor their whereabouts and ensure their safety.
