Church Staff







Pastor Schlagel came to Marquette Manor in January of 2010. Before coming to Marquette, he served as an associate pastor in Oregon for six years. Prior to that, he served as a Christian school administrator and as a Bible college dean in Wisconsin.
Pastor Schlagel is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and holds graduate degrees from Stanford University and Bob Jones University. He was an officer in the Navy’s submarine force for many years before sensing God’s call to full-time Christian ministry. Pastor Schlagel and his wife, Becky, both grew up in rural Minnesota. Pastor and Becky have six married children and seven grandchildren.
Pastor Matt came to Marquette Manor in the Summer 2024. He and his wife, Katie, have a passion for youth and a desire to follow the Lord’s leading. Pastor Matt also loves getting involved in sports, music, and acting.
Pastor Matt graduated from Maranatha Baptist University with a degree in Communication Arts and a minor in Pastoral Studies.
Rachel Potter came to Marquette in 2016 from the faculty of a college in southern Asia. She has several years of experience in office management and ministry. Rachel enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and she has a soft spot for internationals.
Rachel graduated from Maranatha Baptist University with a bachelor's degree in Humanities, and later continued on to receive her Master of Education from Bob Jones University.
Alex Madsen came to Marquette in the Summer of 2024. Originally born and raised in Michigan, he pursued God’s leading to attend Clarks Summit University in Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor's degree in Pastoral Ministries with a minor in counseling, and continued on there to get his Masters in Biblical Languages and Theology.
Alex and his wife, Stephanie, have a heart for students as well as a heart for intentional discipleship. They believe in having and building relationships with those around them and enjoy a variety of different hobbies and activities such as rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, reading, and board games.
Jeff Carrillo came to Marquette Manor in 2007. Since 2008 he has served in various teaching and music ministries including song leading, adult Bible studies, choir, Sforzando String Camp, and Junior Church.
He earned an M.Div. (2001) and B.A. (1994) in Bible from Bob Jones University. Jeff's passion is teaching God's Word and serving Him. Jeff and his wife Teresa have four children.
