Pastor
Dave Schlagel
Pastor Schlagel came to Marquette Manor in January of 2010. Before coming to Marquette, he served as an associate pastor in Oregon for six years. Prior to that, he served as a Christian school administrator and as a Bible college dean in Wisconsin.
Pastor Schlagel is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and holds graduate degrees from Stanford University and Bob Jones University. He was an officer in the Navy’s submarine force for many years before sensing God’s call to full-time Christian ministry. Pastor Schlagel and his wife, Becky, both grew up in rural Minnesota. Pastor and Becky have six married children and seven grandchildren.
Youth/Assistant Pastor
Matthew Holloway
Pastor Matt came to Marquette Manor in the Summer 2024. He and his wife, Katie, have a passion for youth and a desire to follow the Lord’s leading. Pastor Matt also loves getting involved in sports, music, and acting.
Pastor Matt graduated from Maranatha Baptist University with a degree in Communication Arts and a minor in Pastoral Studies.
Music/Assistant Pastor
Timo De Leon
Pastor Timo joined Marquette Manor in the summer of 2025, bringing with him a deep passion for Christ-honoring worship and a heart devoted to serving God. He enjoys composing music and playing sports with friends.
Pastor Timo graduated from Maranatha Baptist University with a degree in Music Composition and Arranging and a Master’s in Bible.
School Administrator
Don Sherwin
Don Sherwin came to Marquette in 2015 to serve as School Administrator. He has nearly 40 years of experience in Christian education as a teacher and administrator. Don was privileged to attend a Christian school from the sixth grade onwards. After training at Bob Jones University, he served in 3 different Christian schools in Kansas, Wisconsin, and Illinois. Don and his wife, Beth, have six children and six grandchildren.
Church Secretary
Rachel Potter
Rachel Potter came to Marquette in 2016 from the faculty of South India Baptist Bible College. She has several years of experience in office management and ministry. Rachel enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and she has a soft spot for internationals.
Rachel graduated from Maranatha Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in Humanities, and later continued on to receive her Master of Education from Bob Jones University.
Business Manager
Susie Sherwin
Susie Sherwin came to Marquette in August of 2019 to serve in our Business Office. After receiving her BA at Bob Jones University, she spent many years in the administration of an assisted living facility in Annapolis, MD. She is thankful for the privilege of attending a Christian school herself and for the opportunity to minister to students and families in her current role. Susie enjoys music, crafting, and travel (especially to see her nieces and nephews).
Facilities Manager
Alex Madsen
Alex Madsen came to Marquette in the Summer of 2024. Originally born and raised in Michigan, he pursued God’s leading to attend Clarks Summit University in Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries with a minor in counseling, and continued on there to get his Masters in Biblical Languages and Theology.
Alex and his wife, Stephanie, have a heart for students as well as a heart for intentional discipleship. They believe in having and building relationships with those around them and enjoy a variety of different hobbies and activities such as rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, reading, and board games.
